What are the requirements for joining Freemasonry?
The person who wants to join Freemasonry must be a man (it's a fraternity), sound in body and mind, who believes in God, is at least the minimum age required by Masonry in his state, and has a good reputation. (Incidentally, the "sound in body" requirement -- which comes from the stonemasons of the Middle Ages -- doesn't mean that a physically challenged man cannot be a Mason; many are). Those are the only "formal" requirements. But there are others, not so formal. He should believe in helping others. He should believe there is more to life than pleasure and money. He should be willing to respect the opinions of others. And he should want to grow and develop as a human being..

How does someone become a Freemason?
When a man decides he wants to be a Freemasonry Mason, he asks a Mason for a petition or application. He fills it out and has it signed by three Masons, he then gives it to a Mason, and that Mason takes it to the local lodge. The Master of the lodge will appoint a committee to visit with the man and his family, find out a little about him and why he wants to become a member of the Masons, tell him and his family about Freemasonry, and answer their questions. The committee reports to the lodge, and the lodge votes on the petition. If the vote is affirmative, and it usually is, the lodge will contact the man to set the date for the Entered Apprentice Degree. When the person has completed all three degrees, he is a Master Mason and a full member of the Freemasonry fraternity. Contact the Secretary here or fillout the contact page for a replay

The Brotherhood and the Meaning of We Make Good Men Better.
Masons see brotherhood as a form of wisdom, a sort of bond that holds men together - a private friendship that tells us we owe it to each other to be just in our dealings and to refuse to speak evil of each other. Masons believe a man should maintain an attitude of good will, and promote unity and harmony in his relations with one another, his family, and his community. Masons call this way of life believing in the Brotherhood of Man. It really means that every Mason makes it his duty to follow the Golden Rule. This is why Masonry has been called one of the greatest forces for good in the world..

Who are Free Mason's and how old is the fraternity?
Freemasonry is the oldest, largest Fraternity in the world. It's members have included Kings, Presidents, Prime Ministers, Statesmen, Generals, Admirals, Supreme Court Chief Justices, corporate CEOs, opera stars, movie stars, and probably, your next door neighbor. Many people don't know that Mason's are from all walks of the world with one simple connection...a brotherhood.

What is taught in Masonary?.
Masonry teaches that each man has a duty not only to himself but to others. We must do what we can to make the world a better place. Whether that means cleaning up the environment, working on civic projects, or helping children walk or read or see - the world should be a better place because we have passed through it. The expression..." Pass it On" becomes the way of life. Masons believe that a country is strong so long as freedom, equality, and the opportunity for human development is afforded to all. A Mason is true to his government and its ideals. He supports its laws and authority when both are just and equitably applied. We uphold and maintain the principles of good government, and oppose every influence that would divide it in a degrading manner.

Is this a religious organization?
There is only one thing involved with joining and that is, that you believe in a higher power regardless of the various names of each religious belief of the proper name. Masonary is not about religon or acts as a religious group. It is about making good men better and ethics of conducting yourself as a good person.
